My niece, Kinah
attended the Vacation Bible Camp in our church – VCF (Victory Christian
Fellowship) in Alabang, last May 16- 18 2013. Kids with ages 4 – 9 years old
are welcome to join. A fee of 750 includes arts and crafts materials, snacks,
bag, note pad and sun visor cap.
The program always
starts in prayer and worship (singing and dancing). It’s nice that church like
this encourages the kids to participate and at a very young age they will
experience the love of God.
Program also includes
arts and crafts (pasting and gluing), games, decorating their cookies which is
served to be their snack, small group - socialization
with the other kids of same age and also
a short play/dramatization so that their imaginative and curiosity mind would
lead to understanding even more about Jesus.
Shekinah, 4
years of age, has questions like where is Jesus? Bakit hindi naten sya nakikita?
Why to pray?
Right now, she was
able to understand why we can’t see Jesus and why to pray. We explained to her,
that Jesus is a spirit and everywhere you go he is there. He always protect
us, that is why we need to pray-for guidance and help us to provide our needs
especially foods.
We also encourage her to
pray for us, too. At an early age we practice/exercise her to pray to
deepen her faith and experience how great is God. When her prayer got answered,
she was really happy!
Day 3, finally she got her certificate of completion, very good, perfect attendance. Hehehe.
Apparently, now a day’s
children got hooked in computer game and television. These things are not bad
but we have to get them involve in church activities in which this is far and
greater important before anything else.
So, I encourage
everyone, especially if you have kid/s. Let them explore not only for the
things that are "in" today but sending them to church first and they alone will discover
and experience how great is our God.
