I was surprised when
Jen called me and asked me if I can come on her Birthday celebration, which is held
last June 6, Thursday. Good thing that I’m free on that date. I was a bit
shocked ‘coz all I know is just a simple celebration and not knowing that it
was already here 18th birthday. Then suddenly, I remember the last
time when we talked about it (debut) was 2 years ago. Time flies so fast that
this girl that I was assisting on her PACES- (Accelerated Christian Education-
School of Tomorrow’s Program - during school days) has turned to be a lady.
She chose me to be a
part of her 18 Treasures (actually, she chose me as a replacement ‘coz Teacher
Allan won’t be able to attend the party). 18 treasures – a gift that you will
explain to her why you gave that; significance to her life.
So excited, and I was
thinking what kind of gift should I give. As I was searching at the mall I saw
a wall clock and suddenly I felt that it would be the best gift.
I remember in Ecclesiastes
chapter 3 – A time for everything.
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
A reminder that whatever she does or plan
in school and or at home, in everything, wait for God’s perfect timing.
Sad to say, this is the only picture left from my cellphone.
Hopefully, I can buy a nice digital camera this year.
Me, Darryl, Matthew, April and Troy got a chance to meet again. So many topics we've talked about that night. Good thing, after so many years, they still looked the same as they were before except for their heights, they grow fast. HOPE they won't change.
Guys, always keep the fire of faith burning as for the Lord.
