What seems to be the cause of UTI for pregnant woman?

Ever since I got pregnant I dint know I have UTI, everything seems good, I didn’t feel any discomfort every time I urinate. Now with my second pregnancy, I still got it. Oh dear, my doctor prescribe me an antibiotic for treatment for 7 days taking it twice a day. I consider buying a generic brand to budget the money, 30 pesos per tablet was still costly, total price of 420 pesos, then another urinalysis test to make sure that it was already treated.

Urinary tract infections, or UTIs, are characterized by bacterial infections that develop in your urinary tract, which is composed of the bladder, kidneys and urethra.

 According to www.webMD.com

- “ In pregnant women, hormones cause changes in the urinary tract, which predispose women to infections. In addition, a growing uterus presses on the bladder, preventing the complete emptying of urine. This stagnant urine is a likely source of infection. Untreated, these infections may lead to kidney infections. Urinary tract and kidney infections in pregnant women should be treated to prevent complications.”

There are ways to prevent UTI, here are the lists:
  • Drink plenty of water – helping the water flushing out the bacteria when you urinate.
  • Wash (private part) with clean water every time you go to the bathroom.
  •  Change underwear at least twice a day
  • Always wipe front to back to prevent bacteria from getting into your vagina.

Signs and symptoms of UTI:
  • cystitis The lining of the urethra and bladder becomes inflamed and irritated.
  •  having to urinate urgently
  • Mild fever, chills, and "just not feeling well" (malaise)

Foods to eat when you have UTI:
